BETHEL HEIGHTS A Pioneer Reaches the Pinnacle in Oregon
Bethel Heights Vineyard grows its grapes on 103 acres in the Eola- Amity Hills AVA, a windy area just north of Salem, the state capital. The family-owned winery is an Oregon pioneer, founded in 1977, and all its wines are produced from estate-owned vineyards. Cousins and co-owners Ben and Mimi Casteel represent the second generation of the winery's founding Casteel, Dudley and Webb families. Ben, the winemaker, pursues a light and delicate style, decidedly old-school, putting the emphasis on fruit flavors and intensity and delivering a marvelous sense of weightlessness in the wines.

Forbes Highlights Bethel Heights Vineyard

"Oregon Pinot Noir And Boeuf Bourgignon -- A Marriage Made In Heaven" Forbes Magazine, Feb. 27, 2016   “The Estate Pinot is their entry level wine yet still, after six years aging, is only just approaching maturity. A tribute to seriously ambitious, and accomplished, winemaking.” (Nick Passmore) Read the full article, which will have your mouth watering.

2005 Bethel Heights Pinot Noir Casteel Reserve – 92

My favorite of the Bethel Heights Pinots is the 2005 Pinot Noir Estate Casteel Reserve (named after the founder of the winery). It is a blend of the estate s old vines and is the most perfumed and complex aromatically. […]
